Blood Donation & Health Camp 2018: Where Our Journey Began

Long before the formal registration of the Srishti Amba Foundation Trust, our youth core group was already on the ground, actively working to address critical community needs. On October 2, 2018, to mark the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, our team organized a comprehensive Blood Donation and Blood Testing Camp (இரத்த தானம் மற்றும் இரத்த பரிசோதனை முகாம்) in Coimbatore.

Organized under our early youth collective—Vivekanandar Kendra – CBE (Free India Society – Friends Club)—this drive proved that young minds could unite a community for a life-saving cause.

Powering Unity Through Collaboration

To ensure the highest standards of safety and medical excellence, our youth-led society teamed up with prominent local healthcare and civic institutions:

By bridging the energy of local youth with established medical experts, the event successfully mobilized dozens of voluntary donors from across the city, providing a vital lifeline to local blood banks.

Inspired by Netaji: A Revolutionary Call to Save Lives

What made this blood donation camp uniquely inspiring was how our team channeled the fiery spirit of India’s freedom struggle into social welfare. The main stage featured Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s legendary words:

“நீ உன் இரத்தத்தை எனக்கு கொடுப்பாய் நான் உனக்கு சுதந்திரம் தருவேன்”
(Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom! — Netaji)

While Netaji called for blood to win the nation’s independence, our volunteers answered the call to give blood to win the battle for human lives on the hospital bed. Along with Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda, Netaji’s principles served as the ultimate driving force for our young volunteers.

This very energy is what later shaped our subsequent Netaji celebrations and the ultimate creation of the Srishti Amba Foundation Trust.
